$115.00Price
This bisque Box was made in Germany by The Conta Boehme Company. These boxes were used as fair prizes and this one is just adorable. It depicts a child looking into a mirror on a fireplace mantle. The facial features on the child are hand painted in wonderful detail. On the mantle is a tiny teacup, saucer and pitcher in perfect condition and there phoenix design on both sides of the fireplace.

It is 3" long and 4" tall, wonderful condition for its age. No chips or breaks.

Victorian Conta Boehme German pieces such as this are small souvenir china boxes and figurines and were typically given away as prizes or sold during fairs in the late 1800's. They first started appearing in the middle of the nineteenth century and remained popular until the start of the First World War.
